Aurelio Melo

Boston - Aurelio Melo , 56, of North Dartmouth, died Monday, January 12, 2004, at the Beth Israel/Deaconess Hospital. He was the husband of Silvana (Reis) Melo. He is survived by his 2 sons: Jamie and his wife Maria Melo and Scott and his wife Patricia Melo all of Dartmouth and a daughter: Diane and her husband Durval Augusto of Dartmouth, 3 grandsons: Scott Melo Jr., Logen Augusto and Joshua Melo, a brother: Raimundo Melo of Sao Paul, Brazil and 3 sisters: Lucilia M. Costa and Maria Natividade Tavares both of Dartmouth and Maria F. Alves of New Bedford and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Melo was born in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal, the son of Maria (dos Anjos) deMelo of S. Dartmouth and the late Joao Inacio deMelo. He lived in this area since 1971. Mr. Melo was a laborer for the J.P.Paulding Co. Mr. Melo was a soldier in the Portuguese Army and served in Ginuea.

The funeral will be Thursday, January 15, 2004 from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 8:45 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Julie Billiart Church in Dartmouth, Ma. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, New Bedford, Ma. Calling hours are Wednesday, January 14th from 5:00 - 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
