Melvin G. Whitehead

New Bedford- Melvin G. Whitehead age 73 died Saturday February 26, 2011 at St. St. Luke's Hospital. Melvin was the beloved husband of Margaret (Lauzon) Whitehead of New Bedford. He was the beloved father of Debra Ann Silvia and her companion Patti Reilly and Glenn D Whitehead and his companion Gail Dresser all of New Bedford and the late Joanne King wife of Ralph King. Melvin was the brother of Robert Whitehead and Janice Remillard. He was also survived by 2 granddaughters Kaitlin and Taylor Silvia, 1 step-granddaughter Amanda Silvia and several nieces and nephews

Melvin was a son of the late Irene (Baniski) and Elmer Whitehead. He was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the United States Naval Reserves.

In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated.

Services will be at a latter date.
