Manuel Moniz Sr.

Manuel Moniz Sr.died January 6, 2004, at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of Olinda (Carola) Moniz, of Fairhaven. He was the father of Linda C. Moniz and Debra A. Shaw both of Fairhaven, and Manuel Moniz Jr. of Acushnet. He was the grandfather of Mark M. and Kelly M. Moniz. He was the brother of Agnes Lima of Wareham, Mariano Moniz of New Bedford, and the late Hilda De Mello.

Mr. Moniz was the son of the late Manuel and Maria (Melo) Moniz. He was born in New Bedford, and lived in this area all his life. .

Mr. Moniz was a school custodian employed by the New Bedford School Department.. He was an animal lover, and was an avid crossword puzzle fan, and loved spending time with his loving family. He was a U.S. Marine who served during World War II, were he served in the Guadal Canal & the Solomon Island.

In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated. Interment of ashes will be at a later date to be determined by his family.
