Diamantina (Aguiar) Sylvia

Dartmouth-Diamantina Sylvia age 92 years, who died Monday February 7, 2011 peacefully at Alden Court Nursing Care, with her loving family at her side. Diamantina was the beloved wife of Frank M. Sylvia Jr. of Dartmouth. She was the loved mother of Stephen F. Sylvia and his wife Patricia of Dartmouth, Frank M. Sylvia III and his companion Beverly of Dartmouth. Diamantina was the loving grandmother of Amy Sylvia-Smith and Joseph W. Sylvia, Great-grandmother of Timothy Sylvia Smith and Nickolas Sylvia Smith. Diamantina was the sister of Margaret Williams, Beatrice Aguiar, Leona Souza and John Aguiar. She is also survived by several nices and nephews.

Mrs. Sylvia was the daughter of the late Serafino and Evangelina Aguiar. Diamantina was born in Dartmouth and was a life long resident. She was employed by the Dartmouth School Department as a cafeteria worker until her retirement.

Mrs. Sylvia’s Funeral will be Friday, February 11th at 8:30 A.M at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, South Dartmouth, at 10 A.M. Visiting will be just prior to the Mass. In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated.
