Maria C. De Melo

New Bedford-Maria C. de Melo age 80 died January 21, 2011 at St. Luke’s Hospital in the presence of her loved ones. She was the beloved wife of the late Jose de Melo. Maria was the loved mother of Joseph Melo of Acushnet, Tony de Melo of New Bedford Altino de Melo of New Bedford and Maria Brilhante of Acushnet. Maria was the sister of Alfredo Larguinho of New Bedford. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren also several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. de Melo was the daughter of the late Maria daLuz R. (Tome) and Antonio Larguinho. She was born in São Miguel Açores and lived in this are since 1967. She was a presser with several manufacturing companies.

Mrs. de Melo’s Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. on Tuesday at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday from 5-8 P.M.
