Joseph Pacheco Valadas

New Bedford – Joseph P. Valadas, age 85, died Tuesday, January 18th, at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Evelyn T. Valadas formerly of New Bedford, who passed away on December 17th. He was the loved Father of Ann Goulart and her husband David of New Bedford, Cynthia Valadas of St. Simon, GA. and, and Susan Lafosse of GA. Joseph was the brother of the late Julio Valadas, Ricardo Valadas, Carmen Gladu and Emily Green. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Valadas was the son of the late Joseph and Maria (Pacheco) Valadas. Joseph was a Production Manager at Chamberlain Mfg. He was a member of the Panthers Athletic & Social Club, Freetown V.F.W. Post # 6643, New Bedford Rod & Gun Club for over 50 years and a Life Member of the Fall River Rod & Gun Club. Joseph was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine during World War II.

Mr. Valadas’ funeral will be Thursday at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St at 10 A.M. Services will be at 11 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 5-8 P.M.
