Mary J. Macedo

New Bedford –Mary J. Macedo, age 87 years, died at Sacred Heart Home on Wednesday, December 29, 2010. Mary was the daughter of the late Maria J. (Medeiros) and Virginio C. Macedo. She was the sister of Alice Macedo, Ferdinand Macedo, Gene Macedo and his wife Mary, Stella Macedo, Theresa Brune and her husband Manuel all of New Bedford, and Natalie Stawasz and her husband Stanley of Dartmouth. Ms. Macedo was also survived by several nieces, nephews, and Godchildren

Ms. Macedo was born in New Bedford and has lived in this area all of her life. Mary was employed as a bookkeeper at Jonathan Handy until her retirement. She was a member of New Creation Prayer Community, Legion of Mary, CCD classes, loved painting, sewing and her family

Mary’s family would like to “Thank” Sacred Heart Home and it’s Staff for their loving care and kindness extended to her.

Miss. Macedo 's funeral will be Monday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 9:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday from 4-7 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that a donation may be made in her memory to Sacred Heart Home 359 Summer St. New Bedford or a charity of your choice.
