Maria (Bento) Ferraz

New Bedford –Maria (Bento) Ferraz, age 83 years, died Monday December 6, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was wife of Manuel Ferraz of New Bedford. Maria was the mother of Zelia wife of Maciel Medeiros of New Bedford, Walter husband of Maria Paiva of N. Dartmouth and Valdemar husband of Maria dos Anjos Ferraz of New Bedford. Mrs. Ferraz was the sister of the late Idemundo Barboza, Gilda Rodrigues, and Jose Lima. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Ferraz was a daughter of Maria doCarmo (Rodrigues) and Jose Bento; she was born in St. Michael, Azores and lived in this area since 1967. Mrs. Ferraz was a floor worker at local dress factories until her retirement.

Mrs. Ferraz’ funeral will be Friday at 8 A.M. at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday from 6 to 8 P.M.
