Jose F. Silveira

New Bedford-Joseph F. Silveira, 80, of New Bedford died Saturday, December 20th at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Emilia (Alves) Silveira. He is survived by his wife, five sons: Jose M. DaSilveira, Leonel, Gustavo, Jose Raul and Jose Abel Silveira, three daughters: Maria Figueiredo, Aida Sousa and Maria Rego, fourteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three sisters Maria Batista, Leonor Mendonca and Fatima Espirito Santo, a brother Henrique Silveira, his daughter-in-laws and son-in-laws, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Geneveva Espirito Santo, and Lino and Roque Silveira.

Mr. Silveira was born in Cedros, Flores, Azores, Portugal, the son of Joao Vicente and Maria (Fraga) Silveira . He lived in this area since 1976. Mr. Silveira was a mason in Portugal and worked here in the United States as a maintenance man at Cornell Dubilier.

The funeral will be Tuesday December 23, 2003 from Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Rivet St., New Bedford, MA.. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, New Bedford, Ma. Calling hours are Monday December 22nd from 6:00 - 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
