Maria Ines (Raposo) Costa

New Bedford - Maria Ines Costa, age 89, died Saturday, November 27, 2010 at St. Luke’s. She was the wife of the late Viriata da Costa. Survivors include her many loving children Viriato J. Costa and his wife Maria of Florida, Osvaldo Costa and his wife Maria Dos Anjos of St. Michael, Azores, Aida McClellan and her husband Richard of FLorida, Mario Costa and his wife Filomena of New Bedford, Paul Costa and his wife Isabel of New Bedford, Helder Costa and his wife Laurie of Dartmouth, 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Maria Ines was the sister of Odete Medeiros of New Bedford, Lourdes Medeiros of St. Michael, Julieta Amaral, Manuel Raposo and Autur Raposo all of Canada, and was predeceased by 6 other siblings.

Mrs. Costa was a daughter of the late Miquelina daPonte and Joao Raposo. She was born in Povoação, São Miguel, Azores and has lived in New Bedford since 1966.

Mrs. Costa’s funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. on Tuesday at 9:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:15 A.M.. Visiting hours will be Monday from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will take place at St. John Cemetery.
