Jose J. Pimentel

New Bedford – Jose Pimentel, age 80 years, died unexpectedly, Friday, October 29, 2010 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Jose was the husband of Maria Linhares (Peixoto) Pimentel of New Bedford. He was the father of Maria DaCamara of GA, Jaime Pimentel of New Bedford, Jose Pimentel of Springfeild, MA John Pimentel of Dartmouth, Mario Pimentel of New Bedford and Nancy Letourneau of Freetown.Jose was the brother of Gilda Veira and Maria Costa both of Toronto Canada, Maria do Carmo of Brazil. Several siblings predeceased him. He is also survived by 15 Grandchildren and 3 Great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Pimentel was a son of the late Mariano Jacinto and Ascuncao Pimentel. He was born in Ribeira Quente, São Miguel Açores and lived in this area since 1966. He was a machine operator at Brittany Dye until his retirement.

Mr. Pimentel’s funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St., on Tuesday at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours are Monday from 5 –8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
