Manuel J. Dasilva

New Bedford-Manuel J. Da Silva age 85 years, passed away on Wednesday October 13th at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Maria F. (Costa) Da Silva of Dartmouth. Manuel was the loved father of Maria Brasil and her husband Manuel of Hull, Ma. The loving grandfather of Paulo and Robert Brasil both of Hull,Ma,and great grandfather of Thomas Manuel Brazil, Manuel was the brother of Joaquim Da Silva of Malden, MA, Maria Lacerda and Filomena Avila. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Da Silva was the son of the late Jose Inacio and Louisa (De Sousa) Da Silva. He was born in Faial, Açores and has lived in this area since 1960. He worked until his retirement in the maintenance department at Boston University for 22 years.

Mr. Da Silva’s funeral will be from Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. Saturday at 9 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St John the Baptist Church at 10 A.M. Visiting hours are Friday from 6-8 P.M.

In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated. “PLEASE OMIT FLOWERS”. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN. 38105-1942
