Kenneth Wayne Gomes

New Bedford-Kenneth Wayne Gomes age 64 years died Friday October 1st at home surrounded by his loved ones, after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Carol (McKinney) Gomes. Loved father of Sara Mills and her husband Jarred of New Bedford. Loving grandfather of Jonthan and Madisyn Leigh Mills. Kenneth was the brother of Charlotte McKenna. He is also survived by 3 nephews.

Mr. Gomes was the son of the late Jose and Frances (Costa) Gomes. He was a Scalloper on various scallopers within the fleet. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of Vietnam.

Mr. Gomes’ funeral service will be Wednesday at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Edward Pauline Officiating. Interment will be at Massachusetts National Cemetery with Military Honors at 1:30 P.M. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 5-7 P.M.
