Aguinaldo C. Gomes

New Bedford- Aguinaldo C. Gomes age 73, died September 30, 2010, at Sacred Heart Home. He was the husband of Amelia (Rozario) Gomes of New Bedford. Mr. Gomes was father of Frank Gomes of Dartmouth, Lisa Gomes of Clearwater, FL., Alan Gomes of New Bedford and the late Manuel Gomes. Aguinaldo was the brother of Amelia Gomes of Dorchester, Eva Rodriques of New Bedford, MA. Mr. Gomes was the godfather of Julia Batiste of Dorchester. He was also survived by 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and by several nieces and nephews

Mr. Gomes was a son of the late Isabella (Dias) and Manuel Pires. He was born in Mato Grande Cape Verde Island and lived in this area since 1963. Mr. Gomes was employed as Longshoreman. Aguinaldo was a member of the Bisca Club.

Mr.Gomes’ Funeral will be at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. Tuesday, October 5, at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 A.M. Visitation will be Monday Evening from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M.In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated.
