Indianapolis, IN – Myron “Mick” Thompson age 69 died peacefully Saturday, August 21, 2010 while attending the V.F.W. Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. Myron was the loving father of Michael and Mark Thompson and grandfather to his loving grandson, Devon Thompson. He was previously married to his loving ex-wife, Patricia (Pietrass) Thompson. Mick was the brother of Fred, Steve, David and Ed Thompson and the late Clarine (Thompson) Erickson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was the beloved son of the late Clarence and Mildred Thompson. He was born in Pine Ridge South Dakota. Mick was a retired Letter Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a former member of the V.F.W. #7239 Acushnet, MA. And was a District 6 Commander, a member of the American Legion Post # 166 Fairhaven, MA. And the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks (BPOE) #73 New Bedford, MA. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and served during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Mr. Thompson visiting hours will be Thursday September 29th from 6-8 P.M. at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford. Religious Services will be Friday at 10 A.M. Burial of his Cremains will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery Bourne, MA. at 11:30 A.M. with Military Honors.
