Jose Frias

New Bedford –Jose Frias age 78 died Monday August 2nd, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Jose was the son of the late Maria do Carmo (Furtado) and Jose Antonio Frias. He was the brother of Maria dos Anjos Rosonina of New Bedford, Maria da Conceicao Linhares of Toronto, Canada, Libania Matos and Ivelia Frias both of Dartmouth and the late Joao Furtado Frias and Zacarias Furtado De Frias. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and godchildren.

Mr. Frias was born in Ribeira Quente,São Miguel, Açores, Portugal and moved here in 1977. He worked as a fish cutter at Frionor, until his retirement.

Mr. Frias’ funeral will be at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. on Saturday at 7:45A.M. with his Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 8:45 A.M. Burial will take place at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4-8 P.M.
