Maria A. (Rodriguez) Sylvia

New Bedford-Maria A. Sylvia age 62 years died peacefully Tuesday July 13th at Catholic Memorial Nursing Home Fall River, MA. She was the beloved wife of Wayne Sylvia of New Bedford. Maria was the loving mother of Kim Binnall-Tucker and Lance Binnall both of Gambrills, MD. She was the stepmother of Suzanne Bates and her husband Jeff of Meridianville AL. Maria was the loved grandmother of Brenden Binnall, Julia Tucker, Miranda Binnall, Devin Binnall, Lance Binnall Jr. and Alexandra Bates. Maria was the sister of Miguel Rodriguez of New Haven, CT., Emma Lopez, Toni Rodriguez and Marina Rodriguez all of FL. also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Sylvia was the daughter of the late Antonio and Julia (Roldan) Rodriguez. She was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico and moved here in 1960. Maria worked at a Bindery and was in retail sales before her retirement.

Mrs. Sylvia’s Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. on Monday at 9:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated. Visiting hours will be Sunday 5-8 P.M.
