Jose Couto

New Bedford-Jose Couto died Saturday July 10th at Brandon Woods of New Bedford after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Onorina (Raposo) Couto. Loved father of Antonio, John, Joe, and Charlie Couto. Jose was the brother of Fernanda Lopes of New Bedford and the late Antonio Couto, Deolinda Pereira and Conceicao Cabral. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Couto was the son of the late Francisco and Maria (Gonsalves) Couto. He was born in Ponta Delgada São Miguel Açores and has lived in this area for 42 years. He was employed by Carol Cable as a machine operator until his retirement.

Mr. Couto’s Funeral Services will be Wednesday at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. at 11 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours are Morning prior to Services from 9:30-11 A.M.
