Joaquim E. "Jack" Silva

New Bedford-Joaquim E. “Jack” Silva died peacefully Tuesday at Hathaway Manor Extended Care Facility after a brief illness. He was the loved father of Amanda Jupin, Jacqueline Silva, Joaquim E. Silva Jr. all of New Bedford and Cordell Silva of Fall River. Jack was the brother of Joao Silva of Wareham, Francisco Silva of Maryland and John Silva of New Bedford and the late Dina Williams and Joseph Silva. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Mr. Silva was the son of Joaquim F. Silva Of New Bedford and Mary (Soares) Silva of Dartmouth. He was born in New Bedford and was a life long resident. Jack was formerly employed by the City of New Bedford working with the New Bedford School Department Food Services for many years until his retirement.

Mr. Silva’s Funeral Services will be Saturday at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. at 8 P.M. In accordance with Jack’s wishes he will be cremated. Visiting hours are Saturday from 5 to 8 P.M.
