Tome S.F. Gordo

New Bedford-Tome S.F. Gordo, 80 of New Bedford died Wednesday, November 5th at St. Luke’s Hospital. He leaves his wife Maria Deolinda (Melo) Gordo; a daughter, Rosary M. DoCarmo of S. Dartmouth; granddaughter Shantelle M. DoCarmo of S. Dartmouth, and a sister Annunciaccao G. Soares of San Fernando, Argentina, Several Nieces and Nephews, Deceased siblings Manuel Gordo Cardoso, Antonio Ferreira Gordo and Maria Ferreira Alegrete

He was born in Ilhavo, Portugal, the son of Manuel Gordo and Rosalina (Ferreira) Cardoso. Mr. Gordo was a commercial fisherman and part owner of the vessels The Carmen Linda and The Linda & Ilda. Mr. Gordo was a member of the Fisherman’s Union and the United Fisherman’s Club.

The funeral will be Saturday, November 8th from Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 8 A.M. with a mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Rivet Street. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, New Bedford, Ma. Calling hours are Friday November 7th from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
