Fermino "Fiaca" Moreno

New Bedford-Fermino “Fiaca” Moreno age 45 years died May 30th unexpectedly at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the father of Lucy Moreno of Cape Verde Island. Fermino is also survived by his Companion Paula Medeiros, step-daughter Gwen, 7 sisters: Balita of New Bedford, Cici, Lizette and Antonia of Cape Verde Island, Rosy and Mize of Portugal and Dada of France and 3 brothers: Nuna and Tchitchite of Cape Verde Island and Antonio of Belgium, his Aunts Viola Pina – Pires, and Pauline Lopes both of New Bedford and Isabel Fernandes of Lisbon, Portugal and Uncles Jose Fernandes of New Bedford, Joel Fernandes, Abel Fernandes both of Praia, Cape Verde Island and many nephews, nieces cousins and friends

Mr. Moreno was the son of the late Antonio and Maria (Andrade) Moreno. He was born in Praia, Cape Verde Island and lived in this area for 22 years. Fermino was a member of the ABC Soccer Club, St. Michael Soccer Club, Clube Recordacoes Soccer Club, Royal Café Soccer Club, and Chunney’s Soccer Place and was a former member of the West African Fraternity a non-profit organization.

Mr. Moreno’s Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. on Saturday at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Assumption at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday 5-9 P.M.
