William Souza Jr.

Venice FL- William Souza Jr. age 84 of New Bedford, MA died on Wednesday May 12, 2010 at Venice Regional Medical Center. William was the husband of Geraldine P. (Goyette) Souza of New Bedford. He was the father of Dean J. husband of Dara Souza of Duxbury, MA., Dale J. wife of Keith Sylvaria of Acushnet, MA., Dione J. Souza of New Bedford. Mr. Souza was the grandfather of Brett Souza, Nicole Souza and Jackson Sylvaria. William was the brother of the late Anthony Travers, Laura Foote, Lena Mello and Jessie Metras. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Souza was a son of the late Georgianna (Lawrence) and William Souza Sr. he was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of his life. William was formerly employed as purchasing agent at Raytheon Co. He was a communicant of Saint Lawrence the Martyr Church. Mr. Souza was a past president of the Administrative Management Society. He was also a member of the Mt. Carmel Seniors. Mr Souza was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Souza’s funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. Thursday at 9 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Lawrence Martyr Church at 10 A.M. Burial will follow with Military Honors at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 5-8 P.M.
