Francisca (Britto) Charlton

New Bedford –Francisca (Britto) Charlton age 68 died Thursday May 6, 2010 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Francisca was the wife of Lee V. Charlton of New Bedford. Mrs. Charlton was the mother of Kenneth L. husband of Lisa A. Charlton of New Bedford and Karen L. Charlton of Washington, DC. She was the grandmother of Lee V. Charlton II. Francisca was the sister of Anna Hawkins, Manuel Britto Jr. both of New Bedford and the late John Britto, Antone Britto, Albert Britto, Angelina DeBois and Mary Costa. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Charlton was the daughter of the late Angelina Anna (Grace) and Manuel J. Britto. She was born in Acushnet and lived in this area all of her life. Francisca was formerly employed as a clerk at Verizon Telephone Co. She was a member of Cape Verdean Womens Club, Our Lady of Assumption Senior Club, Member of the New Bedford NAACP, and Member of the Cape Verdean Recognition Parade Committee.

Mrs. Charlton’s funeral will be at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St., Tuesday at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial at St. John Cemetery. Visiting Hours are Monday from 4 to 8 P.M.
