Shirley (Arruda) Chase

Rhode Island -Shirley (Arruda) Chase, age 67, died May 4, 2010 at Rhode Island Hospital. Shirley was the mother of Richard Marques an his Companion and Shirley’s caregiver Annette Blankenship, Clifford Marques and his Companion of Brenda Pike and Corey Chase all of New Bedford and the late Kelli Marie Chase. Mrs. Chase was the sister of William Arruda Jr. of New Bedford, Charles Arruda, Jeannette Rodrigues and Colleen Costa of all of Dartmouth and the late Arthur Arruda Jr. Shirley was the grandmother of Mark Cormier, Shane Marques, Alisha Marques, Cassidy Rose Chase and the great- grandmother of Mischa Marques. She was also survived by several nieces and nephew.

Mrs. Chase was a daughter of the late Yvonne (Parent) and William Arruda. She was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of her life. Shirley was formerly employed as a waitress at Mee Hong Restaurant for 23 years.

Visiting hours will be Friday from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. with Services at 6:30 P.M. PLEASE OMIT FLOWERS

In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated.
