Karen L. Mottas

Providence, RI. - Karen Lynn Mottas (St. Laurent), age 47 years, died Monday, April 5, 2010 at Rhode Island Hospital after a brief illness. She was the beloved daughter of Jesse “Joe” and Patricia (Berthold) Mottas of Dartmouth. Karen was the loved sister of Michael Mottas of Dartmouth. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Ms. Mottas was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of her life. Karen was a graduate of Dartmouth High Class of 1981. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Southeastern Massachusetts University. Karen completed her Masters Degree from University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth. Ms. Mottas was a Clinical Psychologist who worked at Crystal Springs School in Assonet as well as with other developmentally disabled people. She loved her work.

In accordance with her wishes she was cremated and Private Funeral Services were held Saturday at St. Julie Billiart Church which she shared with her Grandmother Pauline E. Berthold who passed on January 19, 2010. They are interred at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
