Luis M. Sousa

New Bedford –Luis M. Sousa, age 68, died Saturday, April 17, 2010 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Albertina Maria (Pereira) Sousa of New Bedford. He was the father of John Sousa of New Bedford; Step-father of David Sousa and Jose Sousa both of New Bedford. Luis has a Step-grandchild Jarid Sousa of New Bedford. He was the brother of Enio De Sousa, Maria Melo,and the late Edith Maria De Sousa and Jose Pacheco De Sousa. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Sousa was the son of the late Manuel Pereira and Maria Augusta (Pacheco) De Sousa. He was born in São Miguel Açores and has lived in this area for 40 years. He worked at Columbia Cable as a laborer.

Mr. Sousa funeral will be Tuesday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 10:30 A.M. Services will begin at 11 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours are Monday from 5 – 8 P.M.
