Maria R. Da Silva

New Bedford- Maria R. Da Silva age 91 years died Thursday, March 25, 2010 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late Jose B. Da Silva. Maria was the loved mother of Maria Elisabeth Goncalves wife of Antonio and Giselle May Amaral wife of Nelson all of N. Dartmouth. Mrs. Da Silva is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Denice Vardo, Judith Alegre, Carla Murphy, Derek Amaral and Stacey Amaral, 6 great grandchildren James Jr., Jason, Joshua, Michael Jr., Makayla, and Ava. She is also survived by 2 Brothers, 2 Sisters and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Da Silva was born in Fayal, Azores, Portugal; she lived in this area since 1959. Maria was employed as a stitcher for Paul Modes Inc until her retirement

Mrs. Da Silva’s Funeral will be Monday at 8 A.M. from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St., a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 5-8 P.M.
