Albertina (Tavares) Carreiro

Dartmouth-Albertina Carreiro age 83 years died March 15th at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Joao P. Carreiro of Dartmouth; loved mother of Maria Filomena Pereira and her husband Jose, Jose C. Carreiro and his wife Lolly, Joao E. Carreiro and his wife Fatima all of Dartmouth and Francisco M. Carreiro and his wife Lisa of Acushnet and the late Francisco and Lucia Carreiro the triplets along with Maria F. Pereira mentioned above. Albertina was the sister of Irene Laureano of Attleboro, Teresa Pacheco of Middleboro; Maria de Fatima Rodrigues of Attleboro and Maria do Rosario Cabral of Berkley and the late Maria Jose Tavares, Ciméria Tavares, Nuno Tavares, Jose Tavares and Manuel Tavares. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Jason and Kevin Pereira, Crystal Carreiro, Kim Carreiro, Lexy Carreiro, Andrew Carreiro and Jonathan Carreiro and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Carreiro was the daughter of the late Maria de Lurdes (Bulhoes) and Jose Rebelo Tavares. Mrs. Carreiro was born in São Miguel, Açores and has lived in this area since 1972. She was a stitcher with Cape Cod Sportswear and Vanessa Manufacturing.

Mrs. Carreiro’s Funeral will be Saturday at 8 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St., with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday from 5-8 P.M.
