Jose E. Coucelos

New Bedford - Jose E. Coucelos, age 64 years, died Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Maria (Vieira) Coucelos of New Bedford. Jose was the father of Eduarda and her husband Paul Botelho of Taunton, Jose Alberto Coucelos and his wife Maria of New Bedford, Olga Fatima and her husband of Carlos Serpa of New Bedford, Rene and his wife Helen Coucelos of North Carolina, Luisa Coucelos and her fiancée Fernando Oliveira, Eduardo V. Coucelos of New Bedford, Roberto Coucelos and his fiancée Kristy of Kansas. Mr. Coucelos was the brother of Maria Augusta Silveira of NH, Maria Natalia wife of Jose Almeida of New Bedford and Belmiro and his wife of Cecilia Coucelos of Woburn. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Coucelos was the son of the late Augusta (Cardoso) and Jose G. Coucelos. Jose was born in Faial, Açores and has lived in this area since 1969. He was self-employed as a carpenter.

Mr. Coucelos’ Funeral will be Saturday at 8 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St., with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 P.M.
