Libania (Cabral) Goncalo

Dartmouth - Libania (Cabral) Goncalo, age 96, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb 21, 2010 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. She was the widow of Manuel Goncalo.
Mrs. Goncalo was born on Aug 18, 1913 in Ribeira Quente, Sao Miguel, Acores.
She was a daughter of the late Maria Odelia Rita and Jose Vieira Cabral.

Mrs. Goncalo came to this country in 1970. She worked as a stitcher at Lorraine Sportswear in New Bedford. She was the sister of Conceicao Rego and the late Manuel Cabral, Jose Cabral Vieira and Maria Vieira Cabral.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and was devoted to God and her family.

Mrs. Goncalo is survived by two daughters Maria Matos, wife of Dinis Matos and Normenia Medeiros, wife of Ernesto Medeiros and two sons Jorge Goncalo, husband of Carlota Goncalo and the late Norberto Goncalo. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Goncalo’s Funeral will be Thursday at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 8 A.M with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
