Mary Gertrude (Almeida) Santos

Boston-Mary Gertrude (Vieira) Santos age 80 died February 3rd at Carney Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. She was the widow of the late Joseph G. Santos. Mary was the loved Mother of Linda A. Santos, Sebastian J. Santos, Joanne M. Lopes, Carl C. Santos and Cheryl L. Santos all of New Bedford, Roxann Medeiros of North Dartmouth and the late Richard A. Santos Smalley. Mary was the sister of Joseph J. Vieira of New Bedford and the late Amelia A. Lopes, August J. Vieira, Antone A. Vieira and Manuel J. Vieira. Mary is also survived by 15 Grandchildren, 20 Great-grandchildren and 4 Great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Santos was the daughter of the late Joao M. and Gertrude A. (Almeida) Vieira. She was a life long resident of New Bedford. Mary really enjoyed in her moments of relaxation, watching TV game shows, taking trips to Foxwood’s, and was an avid Bingo player. She was very active with her loving family.

Mrs. Santos’ services will be Monday February 8th at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. at 10 A.M. Services commence at 11 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday from 4 – 8 P.M.
