Maria Vieira Cabral

New Bedford-Maria Vieira Cabral age 98 years died February 1st 2010 at New Bedford Health Care Center. She was the sister of Maria Vieira Rego of New Bedford with whom she lived with all her life, Libania Gonçalo of New Bedford, the late Manuel Cabral and Jose Vieira. Maria was the sister-in-law of the late Aniceto Ernesto Rego. Maria was the special aunt-like a second mother to; Maria Baptista, Aniceto Rego and Paul Rego all of New Bedford, Jose Rego and Horacio Rego both of Dartmouth, Dino Rego of Assonet and the late John and Joseph Rego. She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Cabral was the daughter of the late Jose Vieira and Maria Odelia (Rita) Cabral. Mrs. Cabral was born in Ribeira Quente, São Miguel, Açores and has lived in this area since 1972. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church’s, The Legion of Mary and Our Lady of the Rosaries. Ms Cabral loved to cook, sew and mostly gardening, she had a passion for flowers especially Roses. A special thanks to New Bedford Health Care Center.

Mrs. Cabral’s Funeral will be Thursday at 8 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St., with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 5-8 P.M.
