Manuel J. Amaral

New Bedford- Manuel J. Amaral aged 77 died Tuesday January 26, 2010 at Sacred Heart Home. Manuel was the husband of the late Maria (de Melo) Amaral. He was the father of Carlos Amaral of Rochester, MA., Jose Amaral of New Bedford, MA., Judy (Amaral) Deschenes of Providence RI. Mr. Amaral was the brother of Joao Amaral of Stoughton, MA., Rogerio Amaral of Faial, Açores and the late Maria Alice Amaral, Filomena Amaral and Jose Eduino Amaral. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Amaral was a son of the late Albertina (Avila) and Jose Amaral. He was born in Faial, Açores Portugal and lived in this area for 35 years. Manuel was employed as machine operator at U.S. Ringbinder. He loved to fish

Mr. Amaral’s Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. on Friday at 11:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at Noon. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 5-8 P.M.
