Arminda I (Sousa) Silva

New Bedford-Arminda I (Sousa) Silva died Thursday, January 14, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital. Arminda was the wife of Antonio de Medeiros Silva AKA “Ze Da Chica”. She was the mother of Cidalia Arruda and Gualter husband of Filomena DeSilva both of Dartmouth and Maria wife of Lawrence Pimental of Acushnet. Mrs. Silva was the grandmother of Cristina De Silva- Arruda, Andrew De Silva, Tania A. Arruda, Luis Antonio Arruda and great-grandmother of Lillien Dizon. She was pre deceased by several siblings, and also survived by several nieces and nephews

Mrs. Silva was a daughter of the late Maria Orginia (de Medeiros) and Manuel Sousa. Arminda was born in Vila Franca do Campo, St. Michaels, Azores, Portugal. She lived in this area since 1967.

Mrs. Silva’s funeral will be Tuesday at 9:30A.M. at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church New Bedford at 11 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visition is prior to the Mass.
