Manuel Sousa

East Falmouth,MA-Manuel Sousa age 92 years died December 26th unexpectedly at the home of his daughter. He was the beloved husband of the late Evelyn C. (Cabral) Sousa who passed away January 19, 2009. Loved father of Cecilia Kosta and her husband Timothy of New Bedford and Maria Vitagliano and her husband Richard of East Falmouth. He is also survived by 6 Grandchildren; Sarah Correia, Katherine Kosta, Timothy Vitagliano, Nicholas Kosta, Andrew Vitagliano and Jonathan Kosta.

Mr. Sousa was the son of the late Manuel and Ludivina (Couto) Sousa. He was born in São Miguel Açores. He has lived in this area for 59 years. He was an avid gardner and known for his fig trees, he also enjoyed being a sports fisherman, landing the “Big Ones”.

Mr. Sousa’s Funeral will be Wednesday at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. at 9:30 A.M., with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 P.M.
