Jose M. Giesta

New Bedford-Jose M. Giesta age 57 years died December 14th at St. Luke’s Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Maria Filomena (Sousa) Giesta of New Bedford. He was the father of Steven M. Giesta husband of Jessica, Jennifer (Giesta) Carpenter and her husband George II both of New Bedford. Four grandchildren Alicia Macedo, Alexis Giesta, Aryiana Carpenter, and Ethan Carpenter. Sisters and Brothers Manuela Dias of Cambride, Ma, Zenaida DeBrito of New Hampshire, John Giesta and Antonio Jose Giesta both of Cambridge, Ma. and brother of the late Francisco Giesta. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews and many brother and sister in laws that he loved dearly.

Mr. Giesta was the son of the late Antonio Giesta and Marcionila (Sampaio) Giesta. He was born in Faja De Baixo, Ponta Delgada and lived in this area since 1973. He loved spending time with his family, and going on cruises with his wife. Mr. Giesta was the proprietor of Jose M. Giesta Carpets for 20 Yrs.

Mr. Giesta Funeral will be Friday at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. at 8 A.M with a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at St John the Baptist Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday from 5 to 8 P.M.
