Manuel P. Carvalho

Manuel P. Carvalho 77 of New Bedford died on the 18th of November 2009 after a brief illness, at home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of 54 years of Irene (Cabral) Carvalho. Born in Amoreiras Bretanha, São Miguel Açores. He was the son of the late Jose V. and Irene (Pereira) Carvalho. He was the cook at Angelo’s Orchid Dinner for 24 years until his retirement. He loved to cook and spend time with his family. In additions to his wife, he is survived by three children: Maria Macedo and husband Carlos of New Bedford, Maria N. Rafferty and husband Thomas of Dartmouth and Jose M. Carvalho and wife Diane of Hawaii formerly of Wareham. He was the grandfather of Kelly Miranda, Christine Garcia, Jessica and Jennifer Carvalho. Thomas and Kevin Rafferty and great grandfather of Ellyana Miranda. He also leaves 5 sisters and 2 brothers and several nieces and nephews. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday at 9 A.M. at Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
