Manuel Souza

New Bedford-Manuel Souza age 72 years died Friday November 13th at Sacred Heart Home. He was the husband of Maria (Medeiros) Souza of New Bedford. He was the father of Sandra Lopes of New Bedford, Frank Souza of Fairhaven and Joseph Souza of Wareham. Manuel was the brother of Gloria Oliveira of New Bedford, Walter Souza of Philadelphia, and the late Laura Moniz, Irene Lima, Alice Martins, Frank Souza and Arthur Ponte. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Souza was the son of the late Manuel Souza and Custodia (Ponte) Poro. He was a life long resident of this area. Manuel was a box maker for the Prospect Box Company until his retirement.

Mr. Souza’s funeral service will be Sunday at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. during visiting hours. Services will start at 5:30 P.M. In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated. Visiting hours are Sunday from 5-8 P.M.
