Mary L. (Garrant) Desrochers

New Bedford-Mary L. Desrochers age 72 years passed away peacefully Monday October 26th at St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by her family. Mary was the widow of Joseph R. Desrochers. She is survived by her loving children Mark Perry, Barbara Perry and Beth Perry all of New Bedford. Loved grandmother of Keith Bandara, Megan Perry, David Patrick, Michael Patrick, Jamie Perry and Chad Viera. Mary’s great-granddaughter Madison Dawn. Her daughter-in-law and caregiver Wendy Tolley of New Bedford. Mary was the sister of Leon Garrant Jr. of New Hampshire, Donald Garrant of Acushnet and the late Thomas Garrant. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mary was the daughter of the late Leon and Marion (Denault) Garrant. Mary was a life long resident of this area, was a communicant of St. George Church Westport. Mary worked for the City of New Bedford School Department as a cafeteria supervisor at the high school until her retirement. She was a member of the Benevolent Order of the Elks.

Mrs. Desrochers funeral will be Friday at Perry Funeral Home at 8:30 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. George Church Westport at 10:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 6-8 P.M.
