Fernando Araujo

New Bedford- Fernando Araujo age 78 died Wednesday October 8th at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness, with his loving family present. He was the beloved husband of Teresa (Santos) Araujo. He was the loved father of Fernanda Zangao, Maria Catano, Maria Ferran, Ana Ferreira, Maria Coucelos all of New Bedford, and Linda Bento of the Açores. Fernando was the brother of Jose Araujo of Bristol, RI. and Ana Bicho of Canada. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Aruajo was the son of the late Jose and Maria Ernestina (do Rego) Araujo. He was born in Sao Miguel Açores and has lived here for 40 years. He worked for Columbia Electronics as an assembler until his retirement.

Mr. Araujo’s Funeral will be Friday at Perry Funeral Home at 9 A.M. Services will start at 9:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 5-8 P.M.
