Cheryl W. (Andrews) Barboza

New Bedford – Cheryl W. (Andrews) Barboza, age 63 years, died Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at home surrounded by her loved ones, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Bonaventura “Benny” Barboza III of New Bedford. She was the loved mother of Terri L. Barboza of Fairhaven, Kim D. Barboza-Reed of New Bedford, Bonaventura “Ben” Barboza IV of New Bedford and Tanya Barboza of West Virginia. Cheryl was the sister of Lawrence Andrews of Waterbury, CT. Cheryl was the loving grandmother of 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Barboza was a daughter of the late Rose (Perry) and John Andrews. She was born in Wareham and lived in this area most of her life. Cheryl was formerly employed by the Council on Aging in Marion as a driver for the elderly.

Mrs. Barboza’s funeral will be Saturday at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 A.M. Visiting Hours are Friday from 4 - 6 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.

In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated.
