Maria P. Silva

New Bedford- Maria P. Silva age 85 died Tuesday September 1, 2009 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Maria was the wife of the late Faustino Goncalves da Silva, mother of Manuel P. Goncalves of New Bedford, Jose P. da Silva of Canada, Carlos Alberto P. Goncalves of New Bedford, Filomena Pimentel of Canada, Maria Clara Costa, Maria Conceicao Pacheco both of New Bewdford and the late Albano Pereira da Silva. Mrs. Silva is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and several cousins.

Mrs. Silva was the daughter of the late Viriata Amelia (Mendes) and Manuel Jose Pereira. She was born in St. Miguel, Açores Portugal and lived in this area since 1979.

Mrs. Silva’s Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. on Friday at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday from 6 - 9 P.M.
