Michael J. Goulart

New Bedford-Michael J. Goulart age 83 years died August 31st at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Theresa (Baptista) Goulart of New Bedford. Michael was the loved father of Michael S. Goulart and his fiancee Karen Snell of Fairhaven, Wayne J. Goulart and his companion Sue Daniels of New Bedford and Kathleen M. Oliveira and her husband Tony of Fall River. He was the loving grandfather of Jennifer, Andrew, Sarah, Brett and Sophie. Michael was the brother of Lynn Baker of New Bedford and the late Patricia Edmundson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Goulart was the son of the Michael and Katherine (McHugh) Goulart. He was a life long resident of this area. He was a shipper for Morse Cutting Tools and a bartender for several local establishments. Michael was an avid New York Giants Fan; He was a former Bronco Manager at the Clegg Field S.E.Y.A.A. A member of the Andrew Dahill Post # 1531 V.F.W. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Goulart’s funeral will be Thursday at 9 A.M. from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. with Services at the Grace Episcopal Church at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery with Military Honors. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 5-8 P.M.
