Walter E "Gene" Sears

New Bedford – Walter E. “Gene” Sears, age 69, died peacefully, after a long illness, with his loving family at his side, Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Sacred Heart Home. Mr. Sears was the husband Cynthia (Paiva) Sears . They would have been married for 50 yrs on September 5th. Mr. Sears was the father of Scott A. Sears, Jeffrey A. Sears, Barbara J. Jeffrey and Rhonda L. Amaral of New Bedford. The brother of the late Joanne Paradis and Barbara Sears. Gene is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren as well as two nieces and a nephew.

Mr. Sears was the son of the late Walter E. and Fannie (Joseph) Sears. He was born in New Bedford and lived in this area for all of his life. Mr. Sears was employed as a mill wright at Texas Instruments until his retirement.

Mr. Sears’ funeral will be at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. on Saturday at 9:30 A.M. with services beginning at 10:00 A.M. Visitation will be on Friday from 5 to 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.
