John S. Arruda Jr.

New Bedford-John S. Arruda Jr. age 70 died Friday July 31, 2009 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness. He was the loved father of Carolyn S. Arruda of FL., Amanda J. Arruda of Dartmouth and Anne F. Arruda of New Bedford. John was the loving Grandfather of Sadie Anne Ramos. He was the brother of Geraldine Carvalho , Judith Arruda and Raymond Arruda all of New Bedford. He is also survived by several Nieces and Nephews.

Mr. Arruda was the son of the late John S. and Helena S. (Faria) Arruda. He was born in New Bedford and was a life long resident. He was a graduate of Fairhaven High School class of 1957. John was also a graduate of New England Tech and the United States Air Force Academy. He was a self employed General Contracter and Construction Supervisor until his retirement. John genuinely enjoyed the company of his friends and was an avid golfer. We love you Daddy and will miss you, always.

Mr. Arruda’s Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. on Tuesday at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday from 5-8 P.M.
