John Kerry Martin

New Bedford-John Kerry Martin age 32 years died Sunday June 21, 2009 at Rhode Island Hospital unexpectedly, from injuries he sustained during an attempted robbery in which he attempted to subdue the perpetrator. John was the brother of Syrena Costa-Neves of New Bedford and Jason Martin of San Diego, CA., and the late Lisa M. Costa. He has numerous 1/2 brothers and 1/2 sisters and nieces and nephews.

Mr. Martin was the son of Gladys (Heyes) Martin of New Bedford and the late John C. Martin. John was a life long resident of this area. John was a maintenance worker for various local businesses. John was passionate about martial arts and martial arts movies especially “Jackie Chan” movies.

Mr. Martin will have visiting hours on Sunday evening only from 5-7 P.M. Religious Services with Pastor Joseph Neronha will begin at 6:30 P.M. In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated.

At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to any Sovereign Bank for the John Kerry Martin Memorial Fund.
