Donatilde (Sousa) Raposo

New Bedford- Donatilde (Sousa) Raposo age 80 died Wednesday May 6, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Jose F. Raposo who died June 4, 1995. Mrs. Raposo was the mother of Antero, Americo, Cesar, Jose Jr., Ricardo M., Lisa Rebelo, Lucy Madeira, all of New Bedford, Gloria Rapoza of Florida, Maria De Moranville of Buzzard Bay, Donna Leake of Oklahoma. Mrs. Raposo was the sister of Manuel Medeiros Sousa, Gilbert Medeiros Sousa, Gilvarco Medeiros Sousa and Maria Furtado. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and several nieces, and nephews.

Mrs. Raposo was the daughter of the late Marcalina (Medeiros) and Virginio Medeiros Sousa. She was born in St. Michael, Açores, Portugal and lived in this area since 1969. She was employed as a stitcher at Cliftex

Mrs. Raposo’s Funeral will be at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. Saturday at 8A.M. With a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St. Johns Cemetery. Visiting hours are Friday from 5 to 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attended
