Mabel (Frates) Roderick

New Bedford -Mabel (Frates) Roderick, age 81, died Friday, April 17, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of Walter Roderick of Dartmouth. Mrs. Roderick was the mother of Bruce husband of Ann Roderick of New Bedford and Walter Roderick Jr. of Dartmouth. Mabel was the sister of Lucy Zabowski of New Bedford and the late Catherine Walker. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Roderick was a daughter of the late Antone and Mary (Resendes) Frates. She was born in Acushnet and lived in this area all of her life. Mrs. Roderick was a nurse’s aid at Our Lady's Haven in Fairhaven, MA. Mabel was a Den Mother for Pack 52 St. Joseph Church Fairhaven.

Mrs. Roderick’s Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. on Tuesday at 8:45 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Joseph's Church of Fairhaven at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday 5-8 P.M.
