John P. Cordeiro

New Bedford- John P. Cordeiro age 85 years died April 7th at St. Luke’s Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Maria (Vieira) Cordeiro. He was the loved father of Linda Alley wife of James; John P. Cordeiro and Diane Medeiros wife of Carlos, all of New Bedford. He was the beloved grandfather of Marisa and Ethan Medeiros. John was the brother of Manuel Cordeiro of New Bedford, Jose Ponte of São Miguel Açores and Aurora Cardosa of Fairhaven. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Cordeiro was the son of the late John P. and Angelina (Sousa) Cordeiro. He was born in New Bedford and has lived in this area all his life. John was a machine operator for Acushnet Company Rubber Division where he worked until he retired in 1985.

A Jehovah’s Witness Service for Mr. Cordeiro will be Thursday at 11 A.M. at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. Visiting hours are Thursday Morning from 9-11 A.M. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
