Jeannette (Belanger) Tavares

New Bedford- Jeannette Tavares age 77 years died Tuesday at St. Luke’s Hospital. Mrs. Tavares was the wife of the late Jesse M. Tavares. She was the mother of Isabel Rezendes wife of Paul, and James Tavares and his wife Debbie, both of New Bedford. Jeanette was the sister of the late Luke Belanger. Mrs. Tavares was the loving grandmother of Paul Jr. and Heidi Rezendes and Jamie Lunquest Great-grandmother Justin and Alissa Deus. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a Brother-in-Law William Tavares.

Mrs. Tavares was the daughter of the late Luke and Lena (Davignon) Belanger. She was a lifelong area resident and was formerly employed as a stitcher.

Mrs. Tavares services will be Friday at 10:30 A.M. from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. Services starting at 11 A.M. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday from 6 to 8 P.M.
